As a wedding and lifestyle photographer, I get to witness a lot of unforgettable moments—but this one was next-level.
A few weeks ago, I was booked for what Emma believed was a brand session with her friend Sylvia. We planned to shoot at the beautiful Boerner Botanical Gardens, one of Milwaukee’s dreamiest spots for spring photos. What Emma didn’t know was that her boyfriend, Chase, had something very special planned.
From the moment we started the session, Emma was glowing. We chatted, laughed, and took some lovely portraits in the garden. On the way to the Rock Garden, she casually mentioned wanting my contact info—she said she was hoping to be engaged soon and would love to work with me when that day came.
My heart nearly burst, knowing what was waiting for her just around the corner.
As we turned the corner, Chase stood waiting under the soft garden light, surrounded by flowers, holding a ring—and behind him, a beautiful "Marry Me" display. Emma stopped in her tracks, confused for just a second, and then everything clicked.
Tears. Laughter. Shock. Joy. It was one of the most genuine reactions I’ve ever seen.
Chase dropped to one knee, and Emma said yes (through happy tears!). And just like that, the pretend brand session turned into a real-life engagement shoot—and the beginning of a new chapter in their love story.
It was a privilege to capture such a deeply personal and unforgettable moment. Congratulations, Emma & Chase—you two are pure magic together.
